Teesras (175 all out) lost to The Village (177 for 7) by 3 wickets

Summary
Teesras won the toss and elected to bat
Conditions

Subcontinental - with the exception of a green outfield,

Ex-Villager* Mr Nazim Choudhury gathered the might of his team "Teesras" to take on the Village CC. Possibly the best all-around bowling attack taking on a team with reasonable depth.

Mr Choudhury, knowing the bowling strengths of his team, decided to bat first and backed his team to defend whatever they would muster.

In what was in line with their captain's expectations, Teesras opened up with a super solid defender and a ball a chance taking attacker. They put on a decent first wicket partnership before Hampton struck, followed by Thomo striking twice to spark a mini collapse (or in other words, a probable rush to get as many players padded up as possible)

Bilal (Billu Boom Boom) Hussain, Louse, Pitcher and a very good imitator of Warney -Troj, each contributed to the continued fall of wickets. Mr Choudhary was welcomed onto the crease with a mix of Silence (which can never be misinterpreted) and a lot of banter - all sounding and seemingly confusing. Never will a chance be missed to remind him that he was bowled by Pitcher. Yes!! Nazim BOWLED Pitcher for 9 - N and crop whatever.

Farid (49*) batting at no 9 and under pressure to get his team to a decent total played a fantastic innings and just missed his 50 by one when the last man was run out.

Bilal brought some sweets for tea, which everyone chipped into. More sweets were provided by WAGS present. This reminded the author that not once has the current skip brought sweet cookies this season. Last season, they WERE there every single match.

Village started their chase with JdM (13) and Ollie (26) playing sensible shots. Allu chipped in with 21. Ollie, who was looking good, suddenly saw a leg-spinner somewhere in his vision and decided that he needed to play against the line like Laxman and hit him out of the ground like Buttler (All in One shot). In his own honest confession, he got out to a slog. Bosh (12) will forever be reminded by Mr Choudhury that he took his wicket (off a beauty though!).

Chasing was proving very tricky against a classy-ish tight bowling attack but Village had one of their season's best batsman Toby (45*) on the crease, who calmly shepherded (when was that word last used?? ignore the spelling!) and went into Bradmanesque realms (with his average I mean to say). Thomo finished off the chase with a clinical outside edge, which he had meant to go through slips.

This was a very tight, very good chase against a very good bowling attack - possibly the best all round. Well deserved!

Apart from people gorging on Nachos (and as-usual having a few pints) and the skip having to leave in an emergency 'Save my Soul' call-up, there is nothing to be contributed in this section, so I will not waste time and effort writing that and asking you to read.

BTW, this takes Village to 6 from 6. Happy days are here again!!
